Ever run cable and end up 2 feet short? Don't redo the whole run, add an inline coupler to extend it to where you need. No more punching down keystone jacks. Just crimp on a tip, snap it in and go.
If you are doing a custom set up with a blank wall plate you no longer have to punch down the back side of a patch panel. Reconfigure if you need to by popping the coupler out and snapping it into a new location.
